What made you decide to cut your hair?
I wanted to be confident in my own skin and be bold for my age (17). It’s not everyday you see a girl walking around high school with a short cut
What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
That my head shape wouldn’t look right
How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
I just watched a bunch of youtubers talking about cutting their hair and the pros and cons to it
What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
I was happy, I felt free. Like a weight was lifted off my shoulders
Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
That if I can cut my hair In a society that sees hair as a beauty standard, then I can do anything I want in life.
Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
Probably not. If I did, it would be a TWA
Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self-confidence?
It helped, i couldn’t rely on hair for people to decided if I was beautiful or not, they had to see my inside. And if they didn’t wanna stick around to see my inside then I knew they weren’t worth the time
