How long have you been a self-proclaimed baldie? : I’ve been a “bad baldie” since June of 2018 and I’m loving it!

Did anyone inspire you to cut your hair? (include @ name if possible)
@seriouscutz inspired me to cut my hair after seeing the struggles I dealt with in my insecurities about my hair and by making me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

What made you decide to cut your hair?
My entire life I’ve hid behind weaves and still didn’t feel beautiful. I decided to show the world my “true face” and since my wife is now in school as a barber, I wanted her to have a canvas to showcase her work. I wanted to continue to inspire her as she inspired me. I want all of my sisters to know that you don’t have to have a 30 inch weave to be beautiful!

What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
I briefly feared what people would think. I worried about the looks I’d get and if I’d like myself with short hair.

How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
I didn't overthink it because I knew I’d talk myself out of it. I just went for it!

What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
I felt free, as if the weight had been lifted. I felt/feel beautiful.

Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
I rid myself of the hurt and the pain I felt trying to keep up with everyone else’s standards of beauty.

Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
No. I recently bought a wig for fun and hate it. I wore it for 3 days.

Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self-confidence?
It has helped me tremendously!

Do you regret your decision at all?:
Not at all.
