Did anyone inspire you to cut your hair? (include @ name if possible)
I started having thoughts about it when I saw Sanaa Lathaan shaved her hair for Nappily Ever After
What made you decide to cut your hair?
I cut my hair but left some at the top. I decided I wanted to become a blonde and did it at home. Well I over-processed my hair and started to fall out. I went to my barber days later and told him to shave it off. I was done.
What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
I was nervous that I wouldn't look pretty. I didn't know if people would like it or hate it. I was more concerned about what other people thought of me more than what I thought of myself.
How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
No preparation needed. Just said it's time.
What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
I was shocked initially. I kept saying "wow" because I couldn't believe that I did it. After leaving the barber shop my first instinct was to put my hoodie over my head but I stopped myself and said "you can rock tf out of this.
Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
Freedom. I've always been pretty mentally tied to my hair. It has allowed to just be more carefree.
Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
Probably not
