@gsterl
What made you decide to cut your hair?:
It was a bit of an itch I had it for about a year and I really wanted to do it but I let people talk me out of it. When I was 14 I was forced to shave my head bald. I hated it and I was so embarrassed when I went into school the next day 2 of the teachers had told me that there's not really suited me so since then I wanted to try it again and I haven't looked back since.
What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
My reservations came more from what people thought then really for myself. I got the whole you're going to look like a boy people are going to think you're a boy thing there's ways to work around it so.
How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
I just went to a hairdresser and asked her to cut my hair it wasn't really any preparation because every time I try to prepare for it it always got shut down so for once I just went in and did it and I never regretted it the hairdresser was more angry and sad that I was cutting my hair then I was.
What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
I was thrilled I mean I really could see myself I just love it I looked so exotic I hate that word just look beautiful absolutely and utterly beautiful.
Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
Funnily enough, it did it symbolized me entering into my womanhood even though I'm like 22 I just thought it was something grown up and womanly and feminine to do.
Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
Yeah but I really just want a long enough to get braids and twists into it but then after that I usually shave off.
Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self-confidence?
Definitely helped my self-confidence really did. It Has helped me to really love myself and my features how to get in touch with my feminine side alot more.
Do you regret your decision at all?
Nope.
