How long have you been a self-proclaimed baldie?

2 1/2 years

What made you decide to cut your hair?

The decision to cut my hair was something I was thinking about for a long time. I had locs for 10 years and loved everything about my locs. I would color them numerous colors, cut them, grow them and styled them ever different way you can imagine. However, I had an urge to have my hair platinum blonde, my hairdresser at the time said, "If you dye your locs platinum they will fall out". I was determined to get my platinum blonde color and so for my 34th birthday I told myself it’s time to cut these bad boys OFF!

What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?

My only fear was would I get tired of rocking a low cut. Since there wasn't that many different styles I could possible do with a low cut.

How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut

There was no preparation involved. Actually all I did was go on Pinterest and looked up designs I would want my barber to try on me. This actually made me excited and antsy to see how everything will come out.

What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?

I was in LOVEEEEEEEE! The cut fit my face perfectly and embodied my whole persona.

Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?

At the moment the answer is "NO". If I want to change styles I can simply wear a wig or even glue some hair on my head lol (literally)

Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self confidence?

I honestly think it helped my self confidence. In my opinion any woman that can rock a baldie cut just oozes and commands confidence.

Do you regret your decision at all?

I don't regret it at all, I think this was one of the best decisions I've made regarding my hair.
