How long have you been a self-proclaimed baldie?
I've been a self-proclaimed baldie for about 2-3 years now.
What made you decide to cut your hair?
Learning that there's so much more to beauty than hair. So many people both men and woman define beauty with hair. They think the longer the hair the more beautiful and "desirable" you are. Which in my opinion, isn't true. True beauty comes from within. Cliche, but it's the truth.
What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
The only fear I had was how my family, especially my dad would feel about it. My family is very old-fashioned and still thinks that men are only supposed to have short hair.
How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
I didn't really prepare for anything, I took the clippers to my head and just hopped for the best.
What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
I loved it and I felt so different, free, sexy, and empowered. But, I was self-conscious around my family. Until I realized that I can't do everything to please everyone because its impossible; that I need to do what makes me happy!
Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
Fresh start, and that I needed to work on my inner-self for it to radiate out. I had no beautiful curls to hide behind anymore.
Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
NO! I always try, just to see what I would look like again and if I would even like it. But, no matter how hard I try I always end up buzzing it all off.
Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self confidence?
It really helped! I realized and worked on my inner beauty.
Do you regret your decision at all?
NOT AT ALL.
