How long have you been a self-proclaimed baldie?

1 year and 3 months

Did anyone inspire you to cut your hair? (include @ name if possible)

@ohhhjas_

What made you decide to cut your hair?

I wanted to try something new. I had heat damage so it gave me even more courage to cut it. Plus I am a very scissor happy gal.

What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?

That I wouldn't look right or would be outlasted because I don't fit the societal norms. As well as the fact that society forces young girls to believe that your hair makes you feminine or it's what defines you.

How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?

Honestly, I didn't. I was getting tired hid putting it off. So one day before I was about to leave for work I just cut it off... no hesitation.

What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?

At first, it was "OMG! What did I do." Then it was "I like it. This is different."

Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?

It was a rebellion and change to what is excepted. I defied all the idea that come with a short haired girl. She must be gay... which I am not. She must be a tomboy or something... I like a lot of the things guys like but I am very girl at the same time. She probably didn't have any hair... I have had very long hair all the way to bob length. I cut my hair for myself but also it benefited me in everyday to make many double take at the bald girl.

Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?

I would like to go back to the short cut I had before being a baldie. But if I get tired of that I'll just cut it off again. I'm just a baldie at heart.

Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self confidence?

It improved my self confidence 100%. It allowed me to see the true beauty within in myself. I now realize that hair is an accessory and it doesn't make you who you are.

Do you regret your decision at all?

No. I never will.
