Four Rules for Being A Bad Baldie

I remember that day like it was yesterday. The day I cut my hair. It was the summer before my sophomore year. I had a tapered cut for a year, but was ready for a change. At first, I was trying to grow my hair out, but sis… that process was a struggle. I didn’t make it past six months. I was so frustrated with my hair that I literally shouted “I’m gonna cut it all off!” A light bulb went off (I should cut my hair off). Since that moment, I’ve been a baldie for 3 ½ years and I haven’t looked back.
My decision to cut my hair took courage and honestly a lot of prayer. I had to transform into the woman I longed to become. Today, I’m sharing 4 rules for being a Bad Baldie.
1. Just Do It- If you’re thinking about cutting your hair, go with your instinct. Take a risk. Hair always grows back.
2. Be Fearless- Experiment with colors, cuts, and styles. Wear bold makeup and accessories. Take more fashion and beauty risks.
3. Be Confident- Look in the mirror every morning and call yourself beautiful. Love yourself more than ever. Fall in love with your lips, nose, cheeks. Fall in love with everything that makes you… you.
4. Trust the process- It may take some time to get used to a short cut, but don’t be discouraged. Challenge yourself to find joy throughout your journey.
Some people may not understand, but cutting my hair was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I am free. I am beautiful. I am strong. I am a BAD BALDIE!
