How long have you been a self-proclaimed baldie?
i’ve been a proud baldie for close to 2 months now :)

Did anyone inspire you to cut your hair? (include @ name if possible)
Heather Headly & her song “I am not my Hair”

What made you decide to cut your hair?
I was going through a time in my life where a lot of things were changing for me. from my relationships, to me being forced to move... even my job title. so I felt I needed to go with the change and transition into something new.

What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
I’ve always wanted to do it, but i’ve also always been self conscious about my hair in general and how it may or may not appeal to others. but I had to put myself in check in realizing that I need to do this for ME. & not give a crap about what others might think.

How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
I waited years. I then decided to cut my hair into a short cut, and once I felt comfortable with that, I transitioned to being a baldie :)

What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
A huge sense of relief and also self consciousness because it happened so abrupt and i’d never cut my hair that short before. but i’m soooo happy I did!

Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
YES. I had locs and was on a natural hot journey for close to 5-6 years. I feel like this means more to me than most ppl who might not have ever done it because it’s a huge step in my confidence and self love. Embracing myself for all that I am.

Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
Not anytime soon! i’m loving the short hair rn :)

Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self-confidence?
It hurt it at first, but eventually it boosted it so much!

Do you regret your decision at all?
Never.
