How long have you been a self-proclaimed baldie?
since i was a freshman in high school so 3 years!

Did anyone inspire you to cut your hair? (include @ name if possible)
i inspired myself in a way

What made you decide to cut your hair?
I had a variety of hairstyles under the sun, but i got to a point of feeling a disconnect from my hair. I felt like it didn’t belong to me or on me and I needed a chance to rebirth myself

What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
I was scared that people would try to assume my sexual preferences or other personal things just because of my exterior. I was also scared about what my head shape would look like lol!

How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
I had a “Rebirth Party” with some the closest people to me. They all gave me encouraging words and the motivation to do it. I gave all of them a chance to cut a piece of my hair off and then my dad shaved the rest off for me. It was one of the best experiences I had and I will never forget it.

What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
I was shocked! I kept forgetting and every time i looked in the mirror i was scared. I was also very happy because there was such a physical and mental weight lifted off of my shoulders. It was definitely something that I had to get used to, but I couldn’t have been happier.

Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
Cutting my hair was a symbol of a second chance at life. I was getting to know myself all over again. Everything was exposed now and I had nothing to hide behind. Cutting my hair forced me to come out of my shell.

Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
I tend to go back and forth between wanting to grow it out or keep it, but at the end of the day I wouldn’t change my bald head for anything in the world ️

Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self-confidence?
100% I feel liberated and free and ready to take on any challenge I face!

Do you regret your decision at all?
not one bit (: i’m the happiest I have ever been
