How long have you been a self-proclaimed baldie?
One month.
Did anyone inspire you to cut your hair? (include @ name if possible)
Nope, just my random urge for a drastic change.
What made you decide to cut your hair?
I was pretty much over my dreads. I'm at the point in my life where I'm making new power moves and desired a new look. Cutting off 5 years worth of dreads was such a relief; it brought a feeling of new beginnings.
What reservations/fears did you have about cutting your hair?
I was nervous that I wouldn't like it because my face is chunky. But then I remembered that wigs are my best friend as well, lol.
How did you prepare yourself for your hair cut?
I didn't prepare myself, lol. I just got my sister to chop it off because if I kept thinking on it, I wouldn't have done it.
What was your initial reaction to seeing yourself with short hair?
I LOVED IT!!! ALOT!!! REALLY BAD LOVED IT!!!
Did cutting your hair symbolize anything to you?
It brought me to a state of truly accepting myself. Growing up, I was sold on the fact that your hair made you beautiful. Getting older, I've realized that hair doesn't define you. It's basically like an accessory. I'm just as beautiful without it than I am with it. It just feels great to fully be comfortable with myself as a baldie.
Do you plan on ever growing your hair back out?
Eh. As of now, I haven't been thinking about it. I'm enjoying the air hitting my scalp too much.
Did cutting your hair hurt or help your self confidence?
Help my self confidence greatly. It's just nice to not have a bunch of distracting hair hiding my beauty. It's nice to see my face just there, without anything taking away from it.
Do you regret your decision at all? *
Nope! Not one bit. One of the best decisions I've made thus far.
